Racing Incident Report

SHINING GEM and TORNADO TWIST began only fairly.
LARSON shifted out at the start and bumped WINNING METHOD.
From the outside barrier, PRINCE OF FROG was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, SHINING ACE lay out and made contact with the hindquarters of AMAZING STAR.
At the entrance to the Straight, LARSON shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of THIS IS CLASS.
Near the 450 Metres, SHINING GEM got its head on the side and lay out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SPARKLING DRAGON which was inclined to lay in.
Near the 50 Metres, TORNADO TWIST, which was finishing off the race well, was shifted out away from the heels of SPARKLING DRAGON to continue improving.
Throughout the race, MOMENT OF POWER travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, K Teetan stated that near the 50 Metres THIS IS CLASS became unbalanced in its action and then was inclined to pull up over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of THIS IS CLASS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, THIS IS CLASS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of AMAZING STAR, Z Purton stated that whilst there was some pressure in the early and middle stages when AMAZING STAR was racing between SHINING ACE and MOMENT OF POWER, nonetheless the horse travelled satisfactorily. He said AMAZING STAR came under pressure prior to the 400 Metres and did not quicken as well as SHINING ACE which was racing to its inside. He said AMAZING STAR came under heavy pressure in the early part of the Straight and then despite being ridden out did not finish off the race and weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. He added after the race AMAZING STAR became unbalanced, however, the horse felt sound in its action. A veterinary inspection of AMAZING STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of AMAZING STAR, favourite for tonight’s race and a last start winner, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING STAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of LARSON immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, LARSON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
AMAZING STAR, SHINING ACE and WINNING METHOD were sent for sampling.
