Racing Incident Report
SEA MONARCH, which was fractious in the float whilst being transported to the track, was found to have sustained multiple abrasions and to be lame in the right front leg. SEA MONARCH was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, SEA MONARCH was withdrawn by order of the Stewards on raceday afternoon. Before being allowed to race again, SEA MONARCH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
HARMONY FIRE began awkwardly, shifted in and inconvenienced OFF THE REEL.
MY MY MY began awkwardly, resulting in its rider, K Teetan, becoming unbalanced. As a consequence, MY MY MY shifted out soon after the start and bumped heavily with VIVA CHEF which shifted out and inconvenienced CARRY THE DIAMOND. MY MY MY again shifted out approaching the 900 Metres and caused further inconvenience to VIVA CHEF.
For some distance approaching and passing the 700 Metres, VIVA CHEF travelled keenly and was steadied away from the heels of FORZA ANGEL.
Rounding the Home Turn, VIVA CHEF was awkwardly placed behind FORZA ANGEL.
Throughout the race, GOUTEN OF GARO travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of GOUTEN OF GARO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, C Soumillon was not able to offer any reason for the disappointing performance of NEXTMODEL which weakened in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of NEXTMODEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of FORZA ANGEL immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the its trachea and also found the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FORZA ANGEL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MOMENT OF POWER and WHISKEY NEAT were sent for sampling.
