Racing Incident Report

SWIFT SPIRIT began only fairly.
NABOO STAR was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
From wide barriers, INCANTO PREPARED, RIGHT HONOURABLE and STAR PERFORMANCE were also steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
After initially being ridden along for a short distance, SMOOTHIES was steadied a short distance after the start to obtain cover.
After the 1000 Metres, STAR PERFORMANCE was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 650 Metres, GALLANT CROWN was brushed and taken wider by THE HULK which improved into tight running between GALLANT CROWN and TOTAL POWER. Then making the turn after the 600 Metres, THE HULK got its head on the side and lay in away from GALLANT CROWN towards the heels of TOTAL POWER which shifted out marginally away from TELECOM FIGHTERS which shifted in towards the running rail passing the 600 Metres and became unbalanced of its own accord. SMOOTHIES, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence.
Approaching the turn near the 600 Metres, SWIFT SPIRIT raced tight inside NABOO STAR which in turn raced tight inside SMOOTHIES. Then making the turn after the 600 Metres, after being brushed by NABOO STAR, SWIFT SPIRIT made the turn awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in NABOO STAR being crowded for room inside SMOOTHIES (A Badel) and causing SWIFT SPIRIT to become unbalanced and lose ground. Whilst the Stewards were of the opinion that there were a number of circumstances associated with this incident, nonetheless A Badel was told to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances.
On two occasions passing the 500 Metres, TOTAL POWER and GALLANT CROWN bumped as a result of both horses shifting a minimal amount of ground. This resulted in both GALLANT CROWN and TOTAL POWER becoming unbalanced and TOTAL POWER then laying in away from GALLANT CROWN, resulting in TALENTI racing tight inside TOTAL POWER after the 400 Metres.
Passing the 300 Metres, INCANTO PREPARED was checked and shifted out away from the heels of TOTAL POWER which was giving ground. INCANTO PREPARED was then shifted out away from the heels of THE HULK approaching the 250 Metres to obtain clear running.
Near the 75 Metres, SWIFT SPIRIT raced in restricted room between TOTAL POWER and TALENTI.
A veterinary inspection of INCANTO PREPARED, TALENTI and GALLANT CROWN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
THE HULK, RIGHT HONOURABLE and SMOOTHIES were sent for sampling.
