Racing Incident Report

ABOVE ALL, which was fractious after being loaded into the barriers and reared on a number of occasions, was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, ABOVE ALL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
HAPPY TIME shifted out at the start and bumped FUN N GLORY which in turn shifted out, resulting in FOXHUNTER WAY being steadied when crowded for room inside SOLAR PARTNER. After this, from wide barriers, FOXHUNTER WAY and FUN N GLORY were steadied to obtain cover.
Shortly after the start, MY INTELLIGENT was bumped by RING BELLS which was taken out by EASON.
Despite being ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages, from the outside barrier, COUNTRY BOY failed to muster speed.
LUCK STAR made the turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly, shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of HAPPY TIME.
After the 900 Metres, ABOVE ALL was left racing wide and without cover.
MY INTELLIGENT got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of VENTO approaching and passing the 700 Metres.
Near the 650 Metres, LUCK STAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RING BELLS.
SNOWALOT had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
After the race, B Shinn was not able to offer an explanation for the disappointing performance of VENTO which he said after travelling well behind the speed the horse then did not finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of VENTO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
