2 4 SAND DANCE (CD022) G Schofield -- Began well and niggled along to race in midfield or better on rail through to straight. From the 400 M to 200 M whilst running on well was able to find clear passage. Saw clear daylight after 200 M and grabbed 2nd on the line.
3 3 SALUT BEAUTE (CB189) G Mosse -- Best out from widest and hard ridden along to race in a forward position 2 to 3-wide through to straight. Responded well when asked 350 M out but failed to match speed with winner inside final 200 M and overhauled by 2nd placegetter.
4 12 TAIJI SPIRIT (CD185) D Whyte TT Slow to begin from wide draw and soon recovered to race in midfield 2-wide to straight. Baulked for a run in early part of straight, all out 300 M out and closed the race off fairly but needed to stop riding final 20 M to avoid heels.
5 10 BRAVE COMMANDER (CC322) A Delpech -- Jumped fairly and pushed along to race in midfield or worse on rail through to straight. Slightly baulked for a run in early part of straight, all out 300 M out and made up little ground inside final 200 M without threatening.
6 6 DR HAENSLER (CE003) R Fradd P1 Broke with field and soon eased to a rearward position on inner through to straight. Made little impression inside final 200 M out to be closest at finish when asked 300 M out.
7 9 MAGNIFICENT HORSE (CD103) O Doleuze B Jumped fairly from wide draw and steadily settled in worse than midfield around 3-wide. Near 800 M whilst hanging out badly was awkwardly placed on heels. Plugged on evenly to the line when asked 350 M out.
8 8 MILLION CHASE (CD132) D Holland B Began well and steadily eased to midfield around 3-wide without cover. Made little headway from the outside rounding the home turn. Only able to run on evenly to the line when asked 300 M out.
9 14 RIGHT FRAAR (CE024) S K Sit -- Broke with field and soon settled in the rear section 2-wide. Switched wide and crept closer rounding the home turn. Under pressure 350 M out and only kept on one-paced to the line.
10 5 FLYING EAGLE (CD151) F Coetzee TT Jumped well from wide draw and soon raced in a forward position on rail through to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 400 M out and slightly weakened inside final 200 M. (Bled.)
11 7 TREASURE RAIDERS (CE049) S Dye -- Began well and soon took up running on rail but near the 1000 M was joint by another runner to straight. Only kept on evenly when asked 400 M out and steadily faded inside final 200 M.
12 13 KINGSTON GLORY (CC310) W M Lai B Unable to muster early speed to race in the rear section on rail. Switched wide on straightening to obtain clear running but failed to show much impression in the straight.
13 2 AFRICAN FOREST (CD174) B Prebble B Began fairly from wide draw and raced in a forward position out wide in the early stages. After the 1000 M went forward to race outside the lead to straight. No extra when asked 400 M out and dropped out final 200 M.
14 11 CITY GLORY (CD063) Y T Cheng P Jumped very awkwardly and raced at the tail on rail through to straight. Made no impression when asked 350 M out and faded inside final 200 M.
