2 5 BALIUS (CJ631) G Mosse B Slow to begin, soon raced as the back-marker trailing 8Ls from leader, used little in running, taken wide on straightening to avoid traffic, picked up gradually and did his best work towards the finish.
3 3 LINNGARI (CH624) R Moore -- Taken back from the wide barrier, travelled in last but one 7Ls off the pace, remained there to turn, held up behind horses from 400 M until a gap opened up near 200 M, weaved through horses to finish a creditable 3rd.
4 2 VIVA PATACA (CG096) D Beadman H Well enough away, drifted back before the first turn to sit behind midfield 5Ls back, in between horses coming off the bend, unable to improve until 200 M, ran on strongly down the inside to finish an unlucky 4th.
5 9 BULLISH LUCK (CC155) C Soumillon B/XB Began well in his final start, eased back to midfield 4Ls off the lead, 3-wide turning for home, challenged inside 400 M, ran on gamely but effort just flattened over the final stages. Went out in a blaze of glory.
6 4 LOUP BRETON (CK609) A Crastus CP Standard break, not used early and settled towards the rear 6Ls off leader, had plenty to do turning for home, switched wide out, made good progress until 100 M, weakened thereafter.
7 6 OUT OF CONTROL (CK610) G Gomez TT Began with them, unable to cross from a wide barrier and was caught wide without cover throughout the trip, travelled prominently and briefly led going into 400 M, had every chance, kept on until weakening inside 150 M.
8 12 SIGHT WINNER (CJ049) D Whyte -- Quickly into stride, raced in a handy position never far off the leader, shuffled back when checked near 600 M, had a tough run in between horses, badly hampered passing 200 M, not fully tested.
9 10 HAWKES BAY (CG064) B Prebble XB Bounced out from the inside barrier, rolled along the fence in a position better than midfield, travelled well enough to turn but unable to obtain clear running on straightening, hampered near 300 M and never recovered.
10 13 TRINCOT (CK614) I Mendizabal SR Began in line, settled close enough to leaders, well covered turning in, found little under pressure 400 M out, unable to quicken and remained one-paced in run to line.
11 7 ARTISTE ROYAL (CK611) O Peslier V/XB/TT Jumped well, held a rail spot in mid-division about 4 to 5Ls back, saved ground on turning, boxed in on the rail and was not able to improve on straightening, not tested.
12 11 VIVA MACAU (CH110) Z Purton CP/TT Showed early speed and quickly crossed to fence, led them slowly before taken over near 1600 M, travelled 1-back from leader going into straight, all out but lacked finishing dash, dropped off inside 200 M.
13 8 ESTEJO (CK613) D Porcu -- Standard jump, pressed on early to take up the running 3-deep from fence, led field under a slow tempo, crossed to fence approaching home turn, didn't respond when asked and faded from 300 M.
14 14 LUSH LASHES (CK615) K Manning -- Awkwardly away, ridden to maintain a midfield position, forced wide for the major part of the race, gradually moved up down the back straight, struggled early in straight, gave ground rapidly and faded out of contention inside 300 M.
