5 1 DECENT FELLOW (CH021) K C Leung B/H/TT Settled with the backmakers, 2-wide with cover. Made late ground out wide after taking some time to wind up.
6 9 BAUHINIA (CD118) M L Yeung B Showed some early speed to race with the leader before settling in 3rd position 1 off. Was unable to sustain its effort weakening over the final 150 M.
7 3 GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY (CJ015) G Mosse B Raced 2 deep, midfield with cover. Failed to close off.
8 8 COVER BOY (CK021) Y T Cheng B-/SR Was checked at the start and also the 1400 M, settling behind midfield the paint. Peeled out early in the straight but only struggled to line despite again being checked off heels in the run to the line.
9 11 DIAMOND PRINCE (CJ172) H W Lai SR Went forward after the 1400 M when unable to obtain cover while racing 3 deep. Managed to box seat along the fence passing the 1200 M. Gave in quickly approaching the furlong.
10 7 TRAVEL LEADER (CD226) O Doleuze CP2 Began awkwardly, blundered and lost ground settling midfield the fence. Never accelerated when pressured turning for home and gave ground over the latter stages.
11 6 ROMANCING TAMAR (CK176) W Pike B/TT Travelled at the tail of the field. Was a beaten horse a long way from home.
12 10 ODE TO JOY (CJ298) J Lloyd V Throughout the race travelled wide and without cover in a midfield position. Never likely.
