3 5 WINNING WAYS (B332) Z Purton H/TT Steadied to midfield but raced very wide without cover. Improved position passing 650m when continuing wide before entering last section in 3rd place. Battled on strongly in last furlong after wide passage (Blood in trachea).
4 6 DR PROACTIVE (A345) H N Wong -- Steadied from wide gate before getting back to a clear last after first 150m. Continued a clear last entering last section, nearly 7L from lead before making substantial late headway in closing stages.
5 11 OVERSUBSCRIBED (C361) M F Poon H/XB Raced in midfield on rail. Entered last section 3.5L from lead on rail, moved wider after straightening before making up a length in the final furlong.
6 1 CONFUCIUS DAY (C272) B Shinn P-/B2/TT Strode forward after start, before improving to second position away from rail approaching the 600m mark. Couldn't go with leader on straightening before peaking at the 150m & weakening out thereafter.
7 7 HAPPY GOOD GUYS (B466) K Teetan B Strode forward before being crossed and racing on leaders back. Stayed close to the inside on straightening but could make no further improvement & weakened a length in closing stages.
8 9 THOU SHALL SING (B047) C Y Ho B1/TT- Had no speed after the start & raced third last away from rail. Hung out & was consequently wide around bend. Straightened the widest runner, well off lead before making up a few lengths in dash to line to finish to midfield.
9 12 AURORA STEED (C023) L Hewitson B Had no speed after start but made some ground to midfield when racing wide. Steadied near heals & lost ground passing the 600m. Ridden along after entering last section but failed to make any headway in straight.
10 4 WINNER'S HEART (D044) C Schofield CP1 Raced in midfield between runners. Under 3 lengths from the lead entering the final section before peaking on effort passing the 250m mark & weakening a further few lengths in closing stages.
11 10 E GENERATION (C322) M Chadwick XB/B1 Began awkwardly near heels & lost ground after start, racing second last soon after start. Stayed close to the rail on cornering but could make no further headway in the straight & finished well back.
12 2 BEAUT BEAUT (A315) A Badel H/V Showed speed after start before being crossed, raced keenly & left wide without cover near the 600m. Had cover momentarily on straightening before dropping out sharply in the last furlong to be well beaten last.
