Racing Incident Report
STERLING STAR, which was restless after being boxed, was slowly away. GRANITE jumped awkwardly with its head up, then took some time to settle and on a number of occasions threw its head about. Just after the start, SCENIC WONDER, from an outside gate, steadied across behind the field to take up a position at the rear on the rail. In the early stages, the saddle on STERLING STAR shifted back, then over the concluding stages the saddle shifted to the off side. Rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, RACE TO HONOUR raced awkwardly between MIGHTY LANTERN and STERLING STAR. In the Straight, DOLLARS AND SENSE hung in and raced close to the running rail. In the run to the winning post, SCENIC WONDER shifted out away from the whip and near the line was awkward on the heels of LOMOND'S FAY. MIGHTY LANTERN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
