Racing Incident Report

When presented in the Parade Ring, the Veterinary Surgeon noted that V-CAN was showing signs of stiffness in front. The horse was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. After being boxed, V-CAN became fractious and broke through the front of the gates. The horse was quickly pulled up, returned to the stalls, again examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. Before racing again, V-CAN will be required to pass an official barrier trial (stalls test). After being boxed, SUCCESS MAGIC became fractious, reared and was backed out of its gate. During this incident, the saddle shifted which required SUCCESS MAGIC having to re-saddle. Before being re-boxed, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said that in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, SUCCESS MAGIC will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial (stalls test). On jumping, V-CAN and ALL THE GLORY bumped. NO MONEY NO HONEY was slowly away. ROMANTIC SYMPHONY jumped poorly, bumped the inside of its gate and just after the start was checked off the heels of ALL THE GLORY which after coming together with V-CAN shifted out. In the middle stages, the saddle on OVATION shifted back, placing W Woods at a disadvantage. Near the 200 Metres, HIGHLAND LEGEND was checked when crowded between SUPREME CAT which shifted in away from OVATION which also shifted in and HANDBAG DRAGON which shifted out. W C Marwing (ROMANTIC SYMPHONY) said after the horse had missed the start slightly and then had been inconvenienced by ALL THE GLORY, it appeared reluctant to stretch out and was genuinely very disappointing. He said the horse was ridden in its work by the Assistant Trainer and the work had been good and the horse was expected to run well today. He was unable to put forward any real explanation for the disappointing run. ROMANTIC SYMPHONY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
