Racing Incident Report

WELLDONE KID was slowly away. When the gates opened, CHIEF IVOR bounded in the air and bumped the inside of its stall, then just after the start was steadied and shifted out when awkwardly placed just inside the heels of D'OR WIN. For some distance after this, CHIEF IVOR proved difficult to settle, made the first turn awkwardly and shifted out, this caused some inconvenience to SIR GALWAY and ALWAYS ON which was following. PREMIER CITY left the gates awkwardly, was then further inconvenienced by HIGHLIGHT which was taken out by D'OR WIN. Rounding the first turn, DON'T MAKE A SCENE raced tight between SIR GALWAY and GENTLE GIANT. Several times in the middle stages, SIR GALWAY and DON'T MAKE A SCENE came together. Near the 500 Metres, CHIEF IVOR, which was awkwardly placed on the heels of HIGHLIGHT, shifted out to find clear running, this caused some inconvenience to FORTUNE TYCOON and obliged that horse to race wider. From about the 300 Metres until about the 200 Metres, ELLEN'S WON was held up for running. To obtain running, ELLEN'S WON was shifted to the outside of HIGHLIGHT. About the 100 Metres out, J Egan (CHIEF IVOR) momentarily stopped riding and straightened as the horse was getting in and crowding LITTLE PLAYTHING. Throughout the race, D'OR WIN hung in. DON'T MAKE A SCENE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was reported that D'OR WIN had lost its near side front plate.
