Racing Incident Report
On jumping, ACE OF PACE and HANDOVER were checked severely when crowded between KIMBER which left the gates awkwardly and shifted in and SPLENDID PATROL which on jumping shifted out. On jumping, SMART WINNER shifted out abruptly and bumped GREENMORE. Rounding the turn and in the early part of the Straight, NEVER SAY NEVER hung out. In the early part of the Straight, FINANCIAL SUPREME had a tendency to shift ground, as a consequence of this S Dye had to change his whip hand several times. E Legrix (KIMBER) said in the middle stages the horse became unbalanced several times and in the Straight he was concerned with its action. Subsequent to the race, E Legrix reported to the Veterinary Surgeon that he was concerned with the action of the horse. KIMBER was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and he was unable to find any abnormalities. Before KIMBER can race again, it will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also subsequent to the race, A Marcus (ACE OF PACE) reported to the Veterinary Surgeon that during the race he was concerned with the action of the horse. The Veterinary Surgeon examined ACE OF PACE and he was unable to detect any abnormalities. Before ACE OF PACE can race again, it will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of R Fradd (HANDOVER) in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position, they do however intend to advise him that he must ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race whenever possible. SMART WINNER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
