Racing Incident Report

TRAVELLER STAR was slowly away. DOUBLE MARTINI jumped a little awkwardly and was then checked when TRUST ME knuckled and shifted out on jumping. About the 600 Metres, DOUBLE MARTINI and DEREK'S CHOICE came together. From straightening until after the 200 Metres, SMILING FOREST was not able to obtain clear running. Just after the 200 Metres, GOLD CHARM was checked when disappointed for running inside JUST WIN which was weakening and momentarily shifted in. In the circumstances no action was taken. In the Straight, DOUBLE MARTINI had a tendency to get its head up and hung in. J Egan (TRUST ME) explained on jumping the horse knuckled and shifted out abruptly. He went on to say in the middle stages he was in a position behind GOOD FRIENDS, went to shift to the outside of that horse and race inside JIMMY THE GREEK. When JIMMY THE GREEK shifted in slightly, he elected to steady, come back behind JIMMY THE GREEK and then made ground on the outside of that horse. He continued by saying near the 400 Metres he again had to shift this time to the outside of TRAVELLER STAR to find running and go forward. DOUBLE MARTINI was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was reported that JIMMY THE GREEK was coughing.
