Racing Incident Report
FOREST SPRING left the gates very awkwardly and threw its head about. In the early stages, GOLCONDA proved very difficult to settle and for some time raced with its head up. Near the 600 Metres, PEACEFUL CENTURY was unbalanced when racing close to the heels of GOLCONDA and tight inside KIMBO BELL. After the 200 Metres, MENDOZA was steadied and shifted out to find running, then near the 100 Metres was steadied and shifted in to avoid GOLCONDA. W Woods (FOREST SPRING) said the horse travelled satisfactorily until after straightening and when put under full pressure did not respond and over the concluding stages weakened out of the race and was very disappointing. He was of the view the poor run today could be attributed to the fact that the horse did not let down on today's firmer surface. PEACEFUL CENTURY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
