Racing Incident Report
Before the race, Apprentice S K Sit was examined by the Club's doctor who said he was fit to continue riding. BLACK CARBINE missed the start slightly and was then crowded for room between HIGHLIGHT and CHIRAG, both of which had shifted some ground. In the early stages, GRACIOUS FELLOW, from a difficult gate, was obliged to race wide, was not able to find cover until about the 700 Metres when CHARITY FIRST went forward. Near the 700 Metres, WINNING YEARS was unable to hold its position when racing tight inside DRAGON FORTUNE. Rounding the Home Turn, CHARITY FIRST hung out. Also rounding the Home Turn, HAPPY FORTUNE raced awkwardly between CHIRAG and AQUA PRINCE and close to the heels of DANZIG CONTINENTAL. Just after this, HAPPY FORTUNE was steadied when disappointed for running between CHIRAG and DANZIG CONTINENTAL, was then held up for some time and was not able to obtain running until after the 200 Metres. About 100 Metres from the line, K C Tsang (LEAD TO WIN) dropped his whip. DANZIG CONTINENTAL was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
