Racing Incident Report

SELF FLIT, which was having its first race start, missed the start, then in the early part of the Straight when commencing to close off strongly hung in, near the winning post shifted out abruptly across the running of HEAVENLY WIND. As a consequence of this, HEAVENLY WIND was steadied. SHINY missed the start, was then tailed off throughout. The performance of SHINY was considered unacceptable. Before the horse will be allowed to race again, it must perform satisfactorily and competitively in an official barrier trial. In the run to the winning post, GOLDEN FARM shifted in towards SONGS OF THE SUN. C Williams (MR PRESIDENT) said before the race the assistant trainer had pointed out to him the horse was having its first run for some time and the first run for the stable, however, he was told to ensure the horse finished off strongly, if possible he was not to pull the whip. He said in his opinion at no stage did MR PRESIDENT feel comfortable in the ground, took a long while to be properly balanced, in the Straight the horse was commencing to make good ground, he bridged his reins and went to hit it with the whip, but then realized he had been instructed not to do so, accordingly he put the whip down and went to the line hands and heels only. He did say over the concluding stages FAIRWAY FINDER shifted in and this did cause him some inconvenience. The explanations submitted by C Williams were accepted.
