Racing Incident Report

On jumping from an outside gate, RARE threw its head about and was then immediately settled to take up a position at the rear but close to the rail. On jumping, EASY KING stumbled, shifted out and bumped VICTORY MASTER. NATIVE LANGUAGE left the gates awkwardly and bumped the outside of its starting stall. As a consequence of this, D Whyte was unbalanced. About the 1000 Metres, THE ACHIEVER, which was not racing kindly, was checked when momentarily crowded by TRUST ME which shifted in away from COMPANION. NATIVE LANGUAGE, which was following, was hampered as a consequence. Because of the circumstances, no action was taken. Near the 800 Metres, NEVER SAY NEVER was unable to hold its position when awkward between THE ACHIEVER and VICTORY MASTER. Near the 600 Metres, RARE was disappointed for running inside NATIVE LANGUAGE. Rounding the Home Turn, THE ACHIEVER and VICTORY MASTER came together. Then in the Straight, THE ACHIEVER, which was not travelling well, was steadied when LONGMARK shifted out. About the 200 Metres, W M Lai (LONGMARK) was accidentally hit by the whip of C Soumillon (NEVER SAY NEVER). THE ACHIEVER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, THE ACHIEVER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. COMPANION and NATIVE LANGUAGE were sent for sampling.
