Racing Incident Report

SENSIBLE WAY was withdrawn on 14.2.03 on veterinary grounds (temperature) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter CORAJOSO (D Dunn). WINNING BOY shifted in abruptly at the start and bumped HOROSCOPE. On jumping, MASTERY and BORN DRAGON bumped after being crowded for room between CORAJOSO and KING OF FISH, both of which shifted ground. At the 1200 Metres, PARADIS was steadied when crowded for room by SPRING FOUNTAIN which was carried in by TAMAR which shifted ground while proving difficult to settle. In the middle stages, PARADIS hung out, at the 600 Metres shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of TAMAR. HOROSCOPE, which was following, was inconvenienced. At the 200 Metres, TAMAR was steadied when disappointed for running between WINNING BOY which shifted in slightly and NEVER SAY NEVER (C Soumillon) which shifted out. In the circumstances, it was considered appropriate that C Soumillon be severely reprimanded. SPRING FOUNTAIN and MY FAVOURITE were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of SPRING FOUNTAIN after the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its left front plate. A veterinary examination of MY FAVOURITE following the race did not reveal any significant findings. LUCKY OWNERS and KING OF FISH were sent for sampling.
