Racing Incident Report
After being placed in the barrier, HAPPY TOGETHER became fractious, reared and temporarily had its left fore leg caught over a partition. HAPPY TOGETHER was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was deemed suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY TOGETHER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. TRICK OR TREAT and ORIENTAL were slow to begin. SCINTILLATION began awkwardly and got its head up. On jumping, EVEREST and BABY KING bumped. At the 400 Metres, HAPPY TOGETHER became unbalanced after bumping with PREMIER EXPRESS. Near the 300 Metres, HAPPY TOGETHER was steadied when crowded for room between PREMIER EXPRESS and CHING HOI BOY which when under pressure initially shifted out whilst racing greenly. After this, CHING HOI BOY shifted in. The occurrence was accidental. D Whyte (HEALTHY HEART) explained he had ridden the horse in its recent work including an official barrier trial in which the horse was slow to begin, however, quickly made up ground and in the circumstances trialed nicely. He said today HEALTHY HEART was fractious in the parade prior to the race and then after being boxed again became fractious and reared. He said however in his opinion these incidents were of little significance. He said the horse travelled satisfactorily in the early stages, however, over the final 300 Metres dropped out quickly and he was unable to explain the horse's performance. HEALTHY HEART was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, HEALTHY HEART was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. Before HEALTHY HEART can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. HAPPY TOGETHER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of HAPPY TOGETHER after the race did not reveal any significant findings. CHING HOI BOY, EVEREST and BABY KING were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted EVEREST had lost its left fore plate.
