Racing Incident Report

DANEPRINT was slow to begin. SHABU SHABU was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was crowded by NORTHERN FLYER which on jumping got its head up and shifted out. DONGGUAN EXCELS began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. From the outside barrier, MEDIT KING was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position close to the rail In the early stages, MONEY EXPRESS proved difficult to settle. Making the turn after the 800 Metres and in the Straight, CLANG'S PRIDE hung out. At the 700 Metres, DANEPRINT, which was racing greenly, was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside JOINT PEACE (C Williams). C Williams was advised to exercise more care. After the 700 Metres, MONEY EXPRESS was carried wider by MEDIT KING which shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of SUPER IDEAL. In the early part of the Straight, DONGGUAN EXCELS was held up and unable to obtain clear running behind ALWAYS ZIETEN which was giving ground and NORTHERN FLYER. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, JOINT PEACE had difficulty obtaining clear running behind SHABU SHABU and inside SUPER IDEAL. After the 100 Metres, CHAMP DRAGON was hampered and carried wider by JUSTINIAN which shifted ground. K S Yu (PRIZES TREASURE) said when the horse led at its last start, it went too hard and consequently failed to finish the race off. He said today he was instructed if possible to ride the horse behind the leaders but with cover. He said after beginning well he immediately endeavoured to find cover behind CHAMP DRAGON, however, he was not able to do so because he was not clear of SUPER IDEAL. He said making the turn at the 800 Metres there was sufficient room for him to go forward, clear SUPER IDEAL and obtain cover behind JUSTINIAN, however, to do this, he would have had to ride along and he was of the opinion his horse would then have commenced to over-race. IN THE MONEY was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, it was reported that IN THE MONEY had bled from both nostrils. CHAMP DRAGON, JUSTINIAN and SUPER IDEAL were sent for sampling.
