Racing Incident Report

Just prior to the start, CHINESESPORT GLORY became fractious and then turned its head to the side as the gates opened, as a consequence lost ground. CHINESESPORT GLORY was then obliged to race wide and without cover, went forward after the 1000 Metres and near the 800 Metres shifted in to race outside O REI in the lead. CHINESESPORT GLORY then gave ground in the Straight and after the 300 Metres became unbalanced. VENETIAN MASTER began awkwardly, got its head up and bumped the hindquarters of JUST VICTORY. MAXIMUM JOY began awkwardly, then shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between TOP DANCER and THE GREATEST which shifted out slightly. As a consequence, MAXIMUM JOY got back. When under pressure over the final 300 Metres, O REI got its head on the side and lay out. The performance of QUEEN'S GLORY, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before QUEEN'S GLORY will be permitted to race again, it must perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHINESESPORT GLORY was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, CHINESESPORT GLORY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. MAXIMUM JOY, SMART HORSE and INDY'S GEM were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted BRILLIANT PALACE had blood present at the right nostril. An endoscopic examination was carried out. This showed blood in the horse's throat and trachea. As such BRILLIANT PALACE was reported as having bled.
