Racing Incident Report

LUCKY DICE, second Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 7.11.03 on veterinary grounds (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY DICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CHEERFUL HEART began awkwardly, causing D Whyte, its rider, to become unbalanced. TOP DANCER and SUPRA SMART KID were slow to begin. On jumping, SHANGHAI FRIEND and DONGGUAN VICTORY bumped. At the 800 Metres, KINGSTON GLORY was steadied when disappointed for running between RED WINNER and CHEERFUL HEART. After the 300 Metres, SHANGHAI FRIEND was momentarily crowded for room between ALWAYS ZIETEN and DONGGUAN VICTORY which were commencing to give ground. After the 200 Metres, ALWAYS ZIETEN was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SHANGHAI FRIEND which was shifting to the outside of HAPPY WINNING to obtain clear running. Also after the 200 Metres, HAPPY WINNING shifted in towards CHEERFUL HEART. Because of this, Apprentice M W Leung, its rider, stopped riding and straightened. Throughout the race, GOLDEN MAPLE raced wide and without cover. KINGSTON GLORY was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, KINGSTON GLORY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. SHANGHAI FRIEND and CHEERFUL HEART were sent for sampling.
