Racing Incident Report

TELECOM SUPERBOSS was withdrawn on 20.2.04 on veterinary grounds (blood abnormality) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TAIJI SPIRIT (A Delpech). Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM SUPERBOSS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, FLYING EAGLE and PRECIOUS MOMENTS, both of which had made contact with the rail in the Parade Ring, were examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. After the necessary consultations, both horses were considered suitable to race. After being boxed, STAR OF LIHLIN became fractious, reared and sat down. The horse was removed from the barrier, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations considered suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, STAR OF LIHLIN will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. STAR OF LIHLIN, HARVEY MUDD and TAIJI SPIRIT began awkwardly. On jumping, SHAXI RICHES shifted out and made contact with SMILING FOREST. Also on jumping, CLASSIC WIN and FLYING SPRINTER bumped. Shortly after the start, SPECTACULAR TIMES raced tight inside FUN CRUISER which had its head on the side and shifted in away from ROYAL EXCHANGE. Near the 600 Metres, AUSPICIOUS ODYSSEY was steadied away from the heels of FLYING EAGLE which shifted in when not quite clear. For the major part of the race, ROYAL EXCHANGE and TAIJI SPIRIT hung in and SPECTACULAR TIMES hung out. H K Yim (FLYING SPRINTER) and M Kinane (KIMBO KID) were reminded of their responsibilities to ensure they ride their mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race. HARVEY MUDD and FLYING EAGLE were sent for sampling.
