Racing Incident Report
FUN CRUISER began awkwardly. On jumping BOUNTIFUL shifted in abruptly, resulting in WINNING SMILE being checked and ORIENTAL being crowded for room. NOBLE ZOOM bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. TELECOM TYCOON began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped DIAMOND MOON. Near the 1400 Metres, C'EST LA VIE was bumped by TELECOM TYCOON which shifted out. Also near the 1400 Metres, DIAMOND MOON was awkwardly placed inside the heels of NOBLE ZOOM which was shifting in. After the 600 Metres, TATTLETALE was reluctant to hold its position between LUCKY SUPERSTAR and GOLD DIGGER. Near the 200 Metres, ORIENTAL, which was closing the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of TELECOM TYCOON which was giving ground. After the 400 Metres, LUCKY SUPERSTAR got its head on the side and shifted out behind DIAMOND MOON, then over the concluding stages had some difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not ridden out to the line. Passing the 200 Metres, GOLD DIGGER was steadied when disappointed for running between COUNTRY DRAGON and TELECOM TYCOON. Throughout the race, BOUNTIFUL raced wide and for most of the race without cover, then in the Straight when under pressure hung out and proved difficult to ride. Because of this, on several occasions S Dye stopped riding and straightened his mount as it was shifting out towards WINNING SMILE. TELECOM TYCOON was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, TELECOM TYCOON was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM TYCOON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BOUNTIFUL, COUNTRY DRAGON and DIAMOND MOON were sent for sampling.
