Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, DEEP LAUGH became fractious and began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with BEAMING RIVER. ENERGETIC PRINCE was slow to begin, then tailed out. ENERGETIC PRINCE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, ENERGETIC PRINCE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was lame in the right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, ENERGETIC PRINCE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. AFRICAN FOREST bounded in the air at the start, then shortly afterwards shifted in and bumped BUDDIES SPIRIT which had begun awkwardly. On jumping, ON SHAN EXPRESS got its head up. From an awkward gate, DEEP LAUGH was ridden along in the early stages to go forward, however, was unable to obtain cover and raced wide throughout, then in the Straight gave ground. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, BUDDIES SPIRIT was steadied when awkwardly placed between EUPHORIC KID and AFRICAN FOREST. After the 600 Metres, BUDDIES SPIRIT was momentarily steadied away from the heels of AFRICAN FOREST. Making the Home Turn, GLOBE MARK was crowded for room between EUPHORIC KID and LONGMARK. On straightening and again near the 250 Metres, LONGMARK and DEEP LAUGH bumped. After the 400 Metres, AFRICAN FOREST shifted in, bumped the running rail and became unbalanced. In the early part of the Straight, GLOBE MARK hung in. BUDDIES SPIRIT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, BUDDIES SPIRIT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was lame in the left front leg as a result of a shifted plate. Before being allowed to race again, BUDDIES SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DEEP LAUGH was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of DEEP LAUGH after the race did not show any significant findings. EUPHORIC KID and ASSET PLAY were sent for sampling.
