Racing Incident Report

SOPRANO and RED PEPPER were slow to begin. FAMOUS DANCER began awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping, DASHING CHAMPION shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CALIFORNIA BISHOP. In the early stages, KIDDYLAND proved difficult to settle. Throughout the race, GOLDEN SUN raced wide and without cover when endeavouring to shift in and near the winning post on the first occasion shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CALIFORNIA BISHOP. Near the 1300 Metres, RED PEPPER contacted the running rail when racing tight inside DASHING CHAMPION which itself was awkwardly placed inside GOLDEN SUN. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, SUCCESSIVE GAINS was crowded for room inside MIGHTY HUGO which got its head on the side and shifted in. Shortly after straightening, WINNING KEVIN and EQUATOR KID bumped. In the early part of the Straight, FAMOUS DANCER got its head on the side and was reluctant to shift to the outside of the heels of GOLDEN SUN which was giving ground. G Mossé (SOPRANO) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of SUCCESSIVE GAINS, causing that horse to lose its rightful running and be severely checked. G Mossé was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 28 November 2005 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Sunday 20 November 2005. In addition, G Mossé was fined $40,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 2 further racedays. Also near the 200 Metres, FAMOUS DANCER was checked when disappointed for running between GOLDEN SUN and KIDDYLAND. At the 150 Metres, WINNING KEVIN was bumped by EQUATOR KID which was drifting in. Inside the final 100 Metres, CALIFORNIA BISHOP hung in and caused some inconvenience to RED PEPPER. GOLDEN SUN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN SUN after the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING KEVIN, EQUATOR KID and MIGHTY HUGO were sent for sampling.
