Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, SING FAY FAY bounded in the air and lost ground. SUPER IDEAL began awkwardly and shifted in, causing SUNRISE RAINBOW to be carried in. HANDBAG PREMIER bounded in the air when the gates opened, on landing knuckled and as a consequence lost ground. In the early stages, despite the efforts of its rider, ZERUBBABEL failed to muster pace. At the 1400 Metres, BEAR DOMINANCE was bumped by SPRINTER which shifted in. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SING FAY FAY got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SUPER IDEAL which in turn was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of BEAR DOMINANCE. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, HANDBAG PREMIER became unbalanced and lost its position when racing between SUPER IDEAL and SUNBELL. SEASONS TREASURE, which was following, was steadied in consequence. For some distance after the 400 Metres, HANDBAG PREMIER was held up when unable to improve between SPRINTER and SUNBELL. After the 200 Metres, SING FAY FAY, which was closing the race off strongly, was shifted to the outside of SUNRISE RAINBOW to continue going forward. On two occasions prior to the winning post, BOUNTIFUL was hit over the head by the whip of O Doleuze (FIRST AMONG EQUALS). ZERUBBABEL and SUPER IDEAL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, ZERUBBABEL was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ZERUBBABEL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also after the race, SUPER IDEAL was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood in the horse's trachea and a tissue mass was also detected in the horse's epiglottis. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER IDEAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FUJI SUNRISE and WONG'S SUCCESS were sent for sampling.
