Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, POCKET MONEY bounded in the air and lost ground. GLOBAL FORTUNE was slow to begin, then on jumping shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of CARRIZO CREEK which itself shifted in after making contact with GUNG HO. ONE STEP AHEAD began awkwardly. On jumping, SUCCESSOR shifted in and bumped LUCKY WINNER which from a wide gate had been intended to be ridden quietly. Also on jumping, DASH AHEAD was steadied when crowded for room between VIKING TOR and MY LUCK. Near the 1000 Metres, ROYAL DECREE was momentarily crowded for room inside NOBLE MAN which was carried in slightly by GUNG HO which shifted ground when barely clear. After this, NOBLE MAN shifted out and caused some inconvenience to VIKING TOR and ELEGANT KING PRAWN which were carried wider. After this, ELEGANT KING PRAWN raced wide and without cover and proved difficult to settle. C Brown (LUCKY WINNER), which was having its first race start wearing a tongue tie, said in the early part of the Straight he placed the horse under some pressure, it immediately got its head up and commenced to hang out. He said because of this the horse was awkward to ride. He said after the 200 Metres LUCKY WINNER then commenced to hang in and despite making some ground whilst being ridden out in his opinion was not racing truly. He said over the concluding stages if he continued to ride LUCKY WINNER out the horse would have improved close to the heels of VIKING TOR, therefore he did not ride his mount out right to the line as he normally would. SUCCESSOR and POCKET MONEY were sent for sampling.
