Racing Incident Report

MULTIMIGHTY was withdrawn on 17.3.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (both fore shin soreness). EXPRESS MAIL was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetence). Before being allowed to race again, MULTIMIGHTY and EXPRESS MAIL will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FIRST BABY was slow to begin. THREE CLUBS, which was fractious in the stall, began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, WONDERFUL WORLD and UNIQUE SPEED, which had been racing tight, were steadied when crowded for room between MODESTY which shifted in and SINOSPIEL which shifted out away from HONG KONG LAD which itself had its head on the side and shifted out. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SINOSPIEL, UNIQUE SPEED and FIRST BABY were steadied when crowded for room between MODESTY which shifted in slightly and HONG KONG LAD which when making the turn shifted out. No action was taken. MODESTY made the Home Turn awkwardly. From the 400 Metres until near the 100 Metres, HONG KONG LAD was held up and unable to obtain clear running between WINNING FELLOWSHIP and DARE TO WIN. To obtain clear running near the 100 Metres, HONG KONG LAD shifted to the outside of WINNING FELLOWSHIP and in doing so bumped DARE TO WIN which was carried wider. After the 100 Metres, FIRST BABY got its head on the side and shifted in. As a result, D Whyte changed the whip into his right hand. After this, FIRST BABY shifted out in the run to the line. WINNING FELLOWSHIP and HONG KONG LAD were sent for sampling.
