Racing Incident Report
SOUTH CHINA NINETY was withdrawn on raceday afternoon by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (skin allergy). After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to WIN FORTUNE was replaced. KE JIA WANG was a little slow to begin, became unbalanced and got its head up after being brushed by COULDN'T CARE LESS which shifted out. KE JIA WANG made the turn at the 700 Metres awkwardly, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of WONDERFUL BOY which at this time was awkwardly placed inside the heels of GOLDEN MILE. For some distance approaching and passing the 500 Metres, KIWI DASH was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the hindquarters of KE JIA WANG which shifted in slightly. No action was taken. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, KIWI DASH had difficulty obtaining clear running and after the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of COULDN'T CARE LESS to continue going forward. GOLDEN MILE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. WINNING CHAMP and SILVER JET were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, GOLDEN MILE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right front leg. Also after the race, WINNING CHAMP was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN MILE and WINNING CHAMP will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SILVER JET after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SILVER JET, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SILVER JET will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SILLY BOY and KIWI DASH were sent for sampling.
