Racing Incident Report
RED POWER was withdrawn on 27.6.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left fore cannon) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter VERY FIT (Apprentice K L Chui). Before being allowed to race again, RED POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TIME SUPREME was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, WONG'S FAVOURITE was steadied when crowded for room between ELECTRONICS SPUR and SIKANDER. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, TIME SUPREME was checked when crowded for room inside SOPRANO which got its head on the side and shifted in when being steadied away from the heels of GREENESSY which itself was steadied to allow HEALTHY WEALTHY (A Delpech) to shift in. A Delpech was told to exercise greater care. Prior to straightening, TIME SUPREME was steadied when awkwardly placed between SOPRANO and GREENESSY. Near the 200 Metres, TIME SUPREME was steadied and shifted to the outside of LIBERAL'S CHOICE which was tiring. Passing the 200 Metres, SOPRANO and RUM SHOT bumped as SOPRANO shifted out from behind ELECTRONICS SPUR. W C Marwing (SYLLABUS) said the horse travelled comfortably until the 1200 Metres when it came off the bridle. He said he continued to have SYLLABUS under pressure to maintain its position until after straightening. He said in the Straight SYLLABUS hung in more noticeably than is usual. He said after the race SYLLABUS felt sound and he was unable to explain the horse's performance. LIBERAL'S CHOICE and SYLLABUS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LIBERAL'S CHOICE and SYLLABUS after the race did not show any significant findings. SIKANDER and SOPRANO were sent for sampling.
