Racing Incident Report

Prior to being loaded, an adjustment was made to the tongue tie fitted to SUDDEN SPLENDOR. KING HOGAN and TSUNAMI were slow to begin. RED WINE HONEY was slow to begin, then shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of CENAMIRA which shifted in after being bumped by SUPER IDEAL. After the 1400 Metres, TSUNAMI was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of FUJIAN PRINCE which at this time was being steadied away from the heels of SILVER MARK. At the 700 Metres, RED WINE HONEY was steadied away from the heels of TSUNAMI. At the 250 Metres, TSUNAMI was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside SUDDEN SPLENDOR which when giving ground shifted in. For the major part of the race, SPEED OF LIGHT travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight hung in. E Saint-Martin (KING HOGAN) said his mount travelled at the rear as expected. He said after straightening he shifted away from the rail, commenced to ride along hands and heels, however, at that time SUPER IDEAL which was to his inside commenced to shift out. He said because of this he was carried wider and then for some distance approaching the 200 Metres was not able to ride his mount out as it was held up when racing outside SUPER IDEAL and behind CYPRESS HILL which was keeping on only one-paced. He said after the 200 Metres he shifted to the inside of CYPRESS HILL, was then able to ride his mount out and it closed the race off strongly. SUPER IDEAL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER IDEAL after the race did not show any significant findings. FUJIAN PRINCE and RED WINE HONEY were sent for sampling. Following the race, an endoscopic examination of SILVER MARK was carried out at the request of Mr D J Hall, trainer of the horse. The Veterinary Officer reported this examination showed the horse to have an epiglottic entrapment. Before being allowed to race again, SILVER MARK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 3 July 2006)
The Veterinary Officer reported that TSUNAMI was this morning found to have a sore right front suspensory. Before being allowed to race again, TSUNAMI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
