Racing Incident Report
CONGRATULATION was withdrawn on 15.12.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (respiratory disease) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TIME SUPERB (A Delpech). Before being allowed to race again, CONGRATULATION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. THE ONE proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, THE ONE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. After being boxed, ROCKET POWER became fractious, then began awkwardly and lost ground. Before being allowed to race again, ROCKET POWER will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. CLEMENT ELITE, which was fractious in its stall, bounded in the air and lost ground. AS YOU WISH began awkwardly, then shortly afterwards lost further ground when steadying away from the heels of WILD ACE which shifted out. Shortly after the start, CHOSEN ONE became unbalanced and lost ground when crowded for room between THE ONE and LUCKY DANSKE which was racing tight inside CHINA HERO which in turn was carried in slightly by LIFELINE PEGASUS. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, CLEMENT ELITE was hampered and carried wider by TIME SUPERB which when being steadied away from the heels of CHINA HERO got its head up and shifted out abruptly. After this, TIME SUPERB hung out and CLEMENT ELITE travelled wide and without cover. After the 800 Metres, LUCKY DANSKE was steadied away from the heels of AMAZING WIN. In the early part of the Straight, AMAZING WIN was held up and unable to obtain clear running and near the 300 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of MEDIC POWER. In the Straight, THE ONE and MEDIC POWER hung out. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the winner, LUCKY DANSKE, Mr C W Chang, trainer of the horse, explained at its most recent start LUCKY DANSKE failed to get the 1650 Metres on the dirt track. He said because of this the horse performed poorly. He said prior to that when racing in Class 3, LUCKY DANSKE had performed fairly. He said since its last start LUCKY DANSKE had shown improvement in its track work which included winning a barrier trial. He said with the drop in grade today he was confident LUCKY DANSKE would perform well. ROCKET POWER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, ROCKET POWER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. AMAZING WIN, LUCKY DANSKE and LIFELINE PEGASUS were sent for sampling.
