Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, CHEERFUL HAPPINESS became fractious and broke through the front gate of its stall. CHEERFUL HAPPINESS was quickly reined in, returned to the Start and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, CHEERFUL HAPPINESS will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Also after being boxed, MAIN ATTRACTION became fractious and got its right hind leg caught on the adjoining partition. MAIN ATTRACTION was removed from the stall and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, SPEED OF LIGHT stumbled. Also on jumping, RED FORTUNE and CHEERFUL HAPPINESS bumped. FLYING PROFILE was slow to begin. In the early stages, WISHING WELL proved difficult to settle in the lead. At the 300 Metres, MAIN ATTRACTION was steadied away from the heels of FLYING PROFILE which shifted out. The performance of WISHING WELL, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WISHING WELL will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding the poor performance of MAIN ATTRACTION, O Doleuze said the horse was slow to begin and then despite his riding did not muster speed in the early stages. He said MAIN ATTRACTION enjoyed a comfortable run throughout the race, however, when asked to quicken after straightening failed to respond to his riding. When questioned regarding the poor performance of DEFLECT, B Prebble said the horse began well and in the early stages obtained a position three wide with cover. He said after the 800 Metres FORTUNE GOLD went forward and shifted across and this left him racing without cover at that stage. He did say at no stage of the race did DEFLECT feel comfortable in its action. Before being allowed to race again, DEFLECT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MAIN ATTRACTION, DEFLECT and WISHING WELL were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MAIN ATTRACTION, DEFLECT and WISHING WELL after the race did not show any significant findings. ONE EYE JACK and DONGGUAN VICTORY were sent for sampling.
