Racing Incident Report
MAGI JOY began awkwardly and blundered. From the outside barrier, JADE DRAGONFLY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, MAGI JOY was carried wider by CALIFORNIA LUCK which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOLAR EMPIRE. After the 400 Metres, ROCKET WIN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CALCANDO which shifted to the outside of CARRIZO CREEK into clear running. From the 300 Metres until after the 200 Metres, FLYING TAMARI was held up and unable to obtain clear running. In the Straight, JADE DRAGONFLY hung in. M Nunes (MAGI JOY) said his mount travelled a little keenly without cover. He said at the 600 Metres MAGI JOY came under pressure and it became apparent to him that the horse would not figure in the finish, he therefore shifted MAGI JOY to the rail to prevent causing interference as his mount gave ground. He did say in the past it appeared MAGI JOY was better suited when able to obtain a position with cover. MAGI JOY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MAGI JOY after the race did not show any significant findings. FLYING TAMARI and CALCANDO were sent for sampling.
