Racing Incident Report

On jumping, FLAMING LAMBORGINI was crowded for room between LUCKY GOOD DAY and FAMOUS DANCER. Shortly after the start, INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS shifted out and caused crowding on its outside to PRETTY TRIO and SUCCESSIVE GAINS which was racing tight inside FIVE GRAINS. As a result of this crowding, the hindquarters of INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS made contact with the shoulder of PRETTY TRIO, causing INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS to become unbalanced and shift further out, resulting in PRETTY TRIO being checked. Near the 1600 Metres, FLAMING LAMBORGINI was steadied when crowded for room between LUCKY GOOD DAY and FAMOUS DANCER. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, FAMOUS DANCER was carried wider by LUCKY GOOD DAY which shifted to the outside of HEALTHY WEALTHY after being crossed by that horse. At the 1100 Metres, FLAMING LAMBORGINI bumped the running rail and was steadied when tightened for room inside FRUITY FRUITY which got its head on the side and shifted in away from RED POWER. At the 1000 Metres, PRETTY TRIO was steadied when crowded for room inside FAMOUS DANCER which at this time had its head on the side and shifted in away from INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS despite the effort of its rider. After the 600 Metres, FAMOUS DANCER and PRETTY TRIO were steadied when awkwardly placed behind RED POWER which at this time was giving ground. For some distance after this, PRETTY TRIO, which shifted to the inside of RED POWER, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FRUITY FRUITY. Prior to straightening, RED POWER was checked to avoid the heels of INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS which was giving ground. On straightening, INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS, which was continuing to give ground, was steadied away from the heels of PRETTY TRIO. At the 100 Metres, FRUITY FRUITY and LIBERAL'S CHOICE bumped as a result of both horses shifting ground. After the 50 Metres, SUCCESSIVE GAINS was shifted to the inside of HEALTHY WEALTHY to continue going forward. In the Straight, FIVE GRAINS got its head on the side and was inclined to lay in. Throughout the race, INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS travelled wide and without cover. The performance of INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. C Soumillon (LUCKY GOOD DAY) said he had been told the horse does not show natural early speed and as such he should make some use of the horse in the early stages to obtain a forward position. He said he was further told if runners from his outside wished to cross, he should allow them to do so, however, to be mindful as LUCKY GOOD DAY is one-paced that if the tempo of the race steadied, he should be in a position to go forward. He said LUCKY GOOD DAY began well, he allowed it to travel forward, however, after the 1600 Metres HEALTHY WEALTHY and LIBERAL'S CHOICE crossed from his outside. He said when it became apparent to him that HEALTHY WEALTHY was going to allow LIBERAL'S CHOICE to cross in the lead, he shifted to the outside of HEALTHY WEALTHY to allow himself the option to go forward should the tempo of the race steady. FIVE GRAINS and INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FIVE GRAINS and INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS after the race did not show any significant findings. FLAMING LAMBORGINI, FRUITY FRUITY and LIBERAL'S CHOICE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 5 January 2006)
The Senior Veterinary Officer reported that GALBRAITH and RED POWER were this morning found to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, both GALBRAITH and RED POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
