Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, KIWI DASH stood flat-footed and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, KIWI DASH will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. SPECTACULAR TIMES began awkwardly and lost ground. SEVEN STARS was slow to begin and was then further inconvenienced when being steadied away from the heels of NEW TAMAR which shifted out. MAVERICK bounded in the air at the start. With the intention of being ridden with cover, CONSTELLATION proved difficult to settle in the early stages and after the 800 Metres was allowed to stride forward into the lead. In the early stages, MILLENNIUM DAWN proved difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up. After the 1400 Metres, KID GALAXY was steadied away from the heels of HUANG PU DRAGON. Near the 300 Metres, SPECTACULAR TIMES had some difficulty obtaining clear running between BRAVERY LUCK and KID GALAXY. After the 50 Metres, the whip of B Prebble (SPEED OF LIGHT) became entangled inside his right leg. In the Straight, when being ridden out, MAVERICK got its head on the side and shifted in. CONSTELLATION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CONSTELLATION after the race did not show any significant findings. WAVY PEAK and MAVERICK were sent for sampling. After the race, S Dye reported NEW TAMAR was making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer and he said an endoscopic examination showed no significant findings.
