Racing Incident Report
DREAM HORSE was withdrawn on 3.6.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter EASY (Y T Cheng). Before being allowed to race again, DREAM HORSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NEW MILESTONE bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. EASY, WINNING PATTERN and MOVE IT were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, FAT CHOY FOREVER was steadied away from the heels of KIMBO KID which shifted out. HELENE ELEGANCE, which was racing wide and without cover outside the lead, proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, NEW MILESTONE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GLORY YEARS which was hanging in. In the middle stages, FAT CHOY FOREVER hung out. When questioned, Apprentice K T Yeung (GOLDEN CARE) said he had been instructed to ride the horse in the box seat if possible. He said because of this he rode along in the early stages to ensure GOLDEN CARE obtained a forward position, however, when KIMBO KID shifted across from his outside, he allowed that horse to cross to the fence in an attempt to carry out his riding instructions. He said after KIMBO KID crossed at about the 900 Metres, GOLDEN CARE immediately commenced to over-race as the tempo of the race steadied. He said because of this he then shifted out away from the heels of KIMBO KID. Assistant Trainer K L Tsui representing Mr A T Millard, trainer of GOLDEN CARE, confirmed the riding instructions issued to Apprentice Yeung. GLORY YEARS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GLORY YEARS after the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN CARE, KIMBO KID and EASY were sent for sampling.
