Racing Incident Report

SUPER GOAL MASTER, which had been difficult to load, then when boxed was fractious, began awkwardly, bounded in the air and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER GOAL MASTER will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. CHINA SPORTFIELD began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped FINGERS CROSSED. ISLAND SPIRIT was slow into stride. After the 1000 Metres, FINGERS CROSSED, which was proving difficult to settle, clipped the heels of VALUE CHOICE and blundered. Also after the 1000 Metres, MY LANSON proved difficult to settle. At the 950 Metres, KING ACRYLIC was steadied away from the heels of GLOBAL WAY which when proving difficult to settle was allowed to stride forward and shift in. Approaching the 800 Metres, KOWLOON TREASURE got its head on the side, hung out and was checked away from the heels of SOLDIER ON. After the 700 Metres, GLOBAL WAY got its head on the side and shifted wider. Making the Home Turn, VALUE CHOICE hung out and shifted wider. On straightening, MY LANSON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HONEST TREASURE. The performance of KOWLOON TREASURE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KOWLOON TREASURE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. W M Lai (BAJAN BELL) said he had been instructed from a wide barrier to ensure the horse obtained a position with cover as in the past the horse had shown a tendency to over-race. He said accordingly on jumping he immediately shifted BAJAN BELL across behind runners to ensure it had cover. He said after the 1200 Metres BAJAN BELL proved a little difficult to settle, then when KING ACRYLIC was inconvenienced at the 950 Metres, he checked to avoid the heels of that horse. He said he was able to maintain a position with cover in the middle stages, however, BAJAN BELL today in his opinion finished the race off only fairly. KOWLOON TREASURE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KOWLOON TREASURE after the race did not show any significant findings. FINGERS CROSSED, HONEST TREASURE and SOLDIER ON were sent for sampling.
