Racing Incident Report

MOSHI MOSHI and HONG KONG LAD were slow to begin. WIKI WIKI began awkwardly. At the 1000 Metres, SO NICE was steadied away from the heels of SIR OCTAVIUS which shifted in away from the heels of SILLY BOY which shifted ground when just clear. In the middle stages and in the Home Straight, HONG KONG LAD hung out. At the 600 Metres, PALIO KING hung out and shifted wider on the track. At the 200 Metres, NATURAL FATCHOY was steadied away from the heels of HONG KONG LAD which at this time was giving ground. D Nikolic (BUDDIES SPIRIT) said from the outside barrier the intention had been to ride the horse with cover if possible as is usual. He said BUDDIES SPIRIT began well, he did not ride along in the early stages in the hope that he would be able to follow his instructions, however, the field remained bunched on his inside which did not enable him to obtain cover. He said even taking into account BUDDIES SPIRIT travelled wide and without cover, in his opinion the manner in which the horse finished the race off was disappointing. When questioned regarding the poor performance of SILLY BOY, Apprentice K T Yeung said when taken on in the lead by SUPER BALL, SILLY BOY did not relax and as a consequence did not finish the race off. HONG KONG LAD was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, HONG KONG LAD was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. BUDDIES SPIRIT and SILLY BOY were sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of BUDDIES SPIRIT and SILLY BOY after the race did not show any significant findings. ACTIVE VALOUR and OPERA MAGIC were sent for sampling.
