Racing Incident Report
WINWIN COMBO was withdrawn on 23.6.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WIN FORTUNE. Before being allowed to race again, WINWIN COMBO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. F Coetzee (FASTER FASTER) was fined $2,000 for initially weighing out without a girth. After arriving at the Start, SILVER WRAITH was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the left hind leg. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of SILVER WRAITH. Before being allowed to race again, SILVER WRAITH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also after arriving at the Start, E Saint-Martin said in his opinion CELESTIAL WONDER was lame in the right front leg. CELESTIAL WONDER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had a restricted forelimb action and was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of CELESTIAL WONDER. Before being allowed to race again, CELESTIAL WONDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MIRACLE DRAGON was slow to begin. After the 1200 Metres, SWEETIE was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed inside CROWNED GEM which at this time shifted in when not properly clear. At the 800 Metres, CROWNED GEM was steadied away from the heels of LIGHTNING MOUNT which had been laying in and at this time shifted in when not properly clear. No action was taken. Prior to straightening, BRAVERY LUCK was crowded for room between FASTER FASTER which at this time shifted to the outside of ISLAND SUNRISE and MIRACLE DRAGON which shifted in slightly. No action was taken. At the 100 Metres, WIN FORTUNE, which was giving ground, was steadied when awkwardly placed inside RAINBOW EXPRESS which was carried in slightly by LIGHTNING MOUNT which at this time improved into a narrow run on the inside of ISLAND SUNRISE. In the Straight, BRAVERY LUCK hung in. Whilst the Stewrads were satisfied the riding of S K Sit (CHOSEN ONE) over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless told where circumstances permit he should ensure he continues to ride his mounts out to the end of the race. FASTER FASTER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FASTER FASTER after the race did not show any significant findings. RAINBOW EXPRESS, MIRACLE DRAGON and MAIN ATTRACTION were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported MAIN ATTRACTION had sustained a wound to its right flank.
