Racing Incident Report
SEA TREASURE was slow to begin. PURE ALPHA began awkwardly, got its head up and lost ground. Making the first turn, on several occasions BRAVO HORSE jumped shadows on the track. Making the Home Turn, HAPPY HEROES was bumped and carried wider by KING OF SPADES which shifted out in an endeavour to go forward. G Mossé (DASH) explained the intention had been to lead. He said in the early stages he rode along to go forward and shifted across to race outside EVER KING which had crossed to race in the lead. He said making the first turn BRAVO HORSE improved to his outside and appeared to race ungenerously. He said after the 1200 Metres BRAVO HORSE improved its position to go forward and in his opinion given the manner in which DASH was travelling he would have been required to make too much use of the horse to maintain his position on the outside of EVER KING. He said after entering the Back Straight he placed DASH under some pressure, however, the horse did not quicken, therefore he allowed the horse an opportunity to relax. He said prior to straightening he again placed DASH under pressure, however, his mount kept on only fairly and did not quicken as he had hoped. DASH was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of DASH after the race did not show any significant findings. Y T Cheng (LAZY BUDDIES) was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said his mount obtained a nice position and travelled comfortably until the 600 Metres, however, when placed under pressure did not respond to his riding. LAZY BUDDIES was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LAZY BUDDIES after the race did not show any significant findings. MAGIC TOUCH and HAPPY HEROES were sent for sampling.
