Racing Incident Report

MR FLOODLIGHT was slow to begin and then lost further ground when being steadied away from the heels of TIGER RIDGE which shifted in. AMO was a little slow to begin, then after being ridden along to make up ground near the 900 Metres was steadied when crowded for room between DASHING WINNER and GALLANT KNIGHT, both of which shifted ground. After the 900 Metres, DIVINE TOUCH was steadied away from the heels of FLYING SPRINTER which shifted in. Also after the 900 Metres, GALLANT KNIGHT became unbalanced and lost ground when awkwardly placed outside DASHING WINNER and inside FLYING GENERAL which at this time was carried in slightly by ISLAND SPEED. After this, GALLANT KNIGHT raced ungenerously and shifted out before shifting back in abruptly near the 700 Metres. In the middle stages, DASHING WINNER hung out and at the 400 Metres was steadied away from the heels of TIGER RIDGE. In the Home Straight, DASHING WINNER continued to hang out and on straightening caused some inconvenience to FLYING GENERAL. At the 50 Metres, AMO was steadied and shifted to the outside of REUNION to continue going forward. Prior to the winning post, FLYING GENERAL was steadied when crowded for room between DASHING WINNER and DILIGENT which shifted in. REUNION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, REUNION was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was making an abnormal breathing noise. ISLAND SPEED and FLYING SPRINTER were sent for sampling.
