Racing Incident Report
TIME SUPREME stood flat-footed at the start and lost a considerable amount of ground. GREAT ACHIEVEMENT began awkwardly and got its head up. From a wide barrier, shortly after jumping, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS knuckled and was then steadied and taken across behind runners. In the early stages, CALIFORNIA BISHOP was ridden along to go forward, however, was not able to clear runners on its inside and as a consequence travelled wide and without cover throughout. After the 1400 Metres, AMPLE GAINS, which had been racing wide and without cover, was taken back to a position with cover. Near the 200 Metres, WHATABOB, which was commencing to close the race off, was steadied and shifted to the outside of GLOBAL WIN which was giving ground. M W Leung (INDUSTRIAL MARVEL) said he had been instructed to ensure he led on the horse. He said in accordance with those instructions he rode along in the early stages to secure the lead, however, with a number of other on-pace horses being engaged, INDUSTRIAL MARVEL was not able to dictate the pace of the race with GLOBAL WIN racing to his outside. He said because of this he was obliged to go quicker than he would have liked and as a consequence INDUSTRIAL MARVEL gave ground in the Straight. In the circumstances, the performance of INDUSTRIAL MARVEL, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, INDUSTRIAL MARVEL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. INDUSTRIAL MARVEL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of INDUSTRIAL MARVEL after the race did not show any significant findings. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS and KIMBO KID were sent for sampling.
