Racing Incident Report
At the 500 Metres, SILVER MARK became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside the heels of MAINLAND SHUTTLE. Then near the 200 Metres, SILVER MARK was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside MAINLAND SHUTTLE (G Mossé) which shifted in when not properly clear. G Mossé was told to exercise greater care. Near the 200 Metres, GRAND CRU, which was closing the race off strongly, was shifted to the inside of LIVERBIRD to continue going forward. After the 200 Metres, WAIT FOR ME was steadied away from the heels of CIRCUIT HERO which at this time shifted out. Over the concluding stages, MAINLAND SHUTTLE hung out. In the Straight, SPECIAL DAYS hung out. Throughout the race, RIGHT FRAAR travelled wide and without cover. Apprentice C W Wong (WAIT FOR ME) explained he had been instructed to ride his mount in midfield or a little further forward if possible in what was anticipated to be a slowly run race. He said it was felt as WAIT FOR ME was carrying a light weight, it would be to its advantage today to be ridden further forward than is usual. B Prebble (HERE WE GO) said his mount travelled fairly in the run, however, in the Straight did not lengthen out and respond to his riding. He said HERE WE GO is a gross type and in his opinion was holding back on today’s track surface. HERE WE GO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HERE WE GO after the race did not show any significant findings. SPECIAL DAYS and GRAND CRU were sent for sampling.
