Racing Incident Report

K M Chin (SUPER GENERAL) was severely reprimanded for leaving the Jockeys' Room with the incorrect colours. After being presented in the saddling stalls, it was noted SHY BALDY had shifted its right front plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After arriving at the barriers, E Saint-Martin (SPRING SUN) reported the horse was kicked by a lead horse on the left chest on the way to the Start. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. In the early stages, THUNDER FLASH and SPRING SUN were taken across behind runners. After the 900 Metres, HAR HAR CHARMS was steadied away from the heels of PACIFIC ADVANTAGE which shifted out when barely clear. After the 400 Metres, SHY BALDY became unbalanced and lost ground when awkwardly placed between HAR HAR CHARMS and BRILLIANT CHAPTER. SPRING SUN, which was following and was being shifted in to obtain clear running, was steadied in consequence. Also after the 400 Metres, THUNDER FLASH had difficulty obtaining clear running between HAR HAR CHARMS and MAGIC CHARIOT. After this, MAGIC CHARIOT shifted in, became unbalanced and bumped SHANGDONG GENERAL. For some distance passing the 400 Metres, GUNNER MAC was held up and unable to improve behind PACIFIC ADVANTAGE which was giving ground. SHANGDONG GENERAL and MAGIC CHARIOT were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, SHANGDONG GENERAL was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had a nasal discharge and throat inflammation. Also after the race, MAGIC CHARIOT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had sustained a laceration to the outside of the right front fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC CHARIOT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FLORAL JOY II and PROFITING CHAMPION were sent for sampling.
