Racing Incident Report

At declaration time, Apprentice K T Yeung was declared as the rider of both TIGER RIDGE and TAIJI SPIRIT. It was established that Apprentice Yeung had a firm commitment to ride TAIJI SPIRIT. As such, the Stewards permitted Y T Cheng to be substituted as the rider of TIGER RIDGE. For this declaration error, Apprentice Yeung was fined $2,000. GALACTIC TACTIC, which was fractious in its stall, sat back as the gates opened and as a consequence was slow to begin. CLASSA FOR EVER was slow to begin and got its head up, then in the early and middle stages proved difficult to settle. For almost the final 200 Metres, BRILLIANT ONE raced tight inside THE WORLD OF LOVE. THUNDER FLASH jumped a shadow on the track at the winning post. Throughout the race, KINGIFLY travelled wide and without cover. KINGIFLY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, KINGIFLY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, KINGIFLY will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. THUNDER FLASH and TIGER RIDGE were sent for sampling.
