Racing Incident Report
After being presented in the Parade Ring, it was noted MAGIC CHARIOT had shifted its right front plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. In the early stages, PROFITING CHAMPION, which was racing in blinkers for the first time, proved difficult to settle. Near the 200 Metres, CALIFORNIA LUCK was momentarily steadied when crowded for room between MAGIC CHARIOT and PROFITING CHAMPION which shifted in slightly. REUNION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, REUNION was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was making an abnormal breathing noise and an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. WARRIOR and MAGIC CHARIOT were sent for sampling.
