Racing Incident Report

SUPER GOAL MASTER, which was standing with its head turned to the left, began very awkwardly and lost ground at the start. STAR LEGEND put its head down as the gates opened, was a little slow to begin and was then checked when crowded for room between WIN-A-LOT and SUNSHINE BOY, both of which shifted ground. Approaching the turn at the 1000 Metres, SUPER GOAL MASTER was checked when crowded for room between STAR LEGEND which shifted out and AMO which got its head on the side and shifted in away from MAGIC SWEEP. No action was taken. After the 800 Metres, AMO was steadied away from the heels of MAGIC SWEEP. Throughout the race, VICTORY CONQUEROR travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight hung in. M Du Plessis (STAR LEGEND) reported throughout the race his mount hung out. He said making the turn at the 1000 Metres STAR LEGEND shifted out and he checked his mount away from the heels of AMO. Y T Cheng (INDUSTRIAL MARVEL), which was dropping back in distance from 1650 Metres tonight, explained from the outside barrier he was instructed to take his mount back in the early stages to ensure it had cover. He said it was felt too much use would have to be made of INDUSTRIAL MARVEL to be ridden forward to lead in tonight’s race from the wide barrier. He said INDUSTRIAL MARVEL travelled satisfactorily in a rearward position in the early stages. He said after entering the Back Straight he allowed his mount to improve gradually into a midfield position while maintaining cover. He said at the 500 Metres he attempted to follow VICTORY CONQUEROR forward, however, INDUSTRIAL MARVEL responded only fairly. He said in the Straight INDUSTRIAL MARVEL initially kept on one-paced, then over the concluding stages gave ground. SUPER GOAL MASTER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER GOAL MASTER after the race did not show any significant findings. LASER TIGER and LONGWAH RISING were sent for sampling.
