Racing Incident Report
On jumping, BREAKING POINT was taken back. At the 1900 Metres, BREAKING POINT was steadied away from the heels of COOL RUNNINGS. After the 1200 Metres, FASHFIELD was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SWEET BABY. Also after the 1200 Metres, BREAKING POINT, which was over-racing, got its head up and shifted out away from the heels of FANTASTIC GUY. After this, BREAKING POINT was allowed to stride forward. At the 900 Metres, GALAXEE was crowded for room between SAMBUOYANT and LUCKY MONEY STAR which shifted out from behind BATURO. Also at the 900 Metres, FASHFIELD got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of EMBRACES. After the 600 Metres, ZEPHYRUS, which was endeavouring to improve its position between BREAKING POINT and LUCKY MONEY STAR where there was not a full run, was checked when crowded for room between BREAKING POINT which shifted in slightly and LUCKY MONEY STAR which was steadied away from the heels of GALAXEE and shifted out slightly. No action was taken. EMBRACES, which was following, was checked in consequence. Prior to straightening, ZEPHYRUS was tightened for room between EMBRACES and SWEET BABY which shifted out. Near the 100 Metres, ZEPHYRUS was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SAMBUOYANT. Just prior to the winning post, GALAXEE was brushed by SWEET BABY which shifted in. In the Straight, BREAKING POINT hung in. Apprentice K C Leung (BATURO) explained after entering the Back Straight when leading he steadied the tempo after he had looked behind him and ascertained that he had established a comfortable lead with only one horse trailing him. He said he did not consider at this time that other horses would commence to make ground quickly around his outside in the manner in which they did. BREAKING POINT, SWEET BABY and GALAXEE were sent for sampling.
